In the early days, manufacturers made paint spray gun hoses mainly from natural rubber. These hoses had good elasticity, making them suitable for delivering low-viscosity paints. But as the coatings industry advanced, natural rubber paint hoses revealed clear limitations. For example, they deformed easily under high temperatures and pressure. They also wore out quickly and weren’t ideal for long-distance paint delivery.

To keep up with demand for high-performance coatings, the industry developed new paint spray hose materials. Today, two main options dominate the market: PU and silicone.

PU paint spray hoses stand out for their excellent wear resistance, pressure tolerance, and high-temperature resistance. They work well with paints of all viscosities, making them highly versatile.

Silicone paint spray hoses, on the other hand, offer strong corrosion resistance. This makes them perfect for handling corrosive paints that would damage other materials.

When choosing a paint spray hose, always consider your specific application. For wood coating, paints often contain large amounts of solvents. This demands high corrosion resistance, so a PU paint spray hose is usually the best choice. In electronic coating, coatings have complex compositions that require better wear resistance. Here, a silicone paint spray hose performs better.
