The spiral hydraulic hose wrap uses modified PP material. That’s why it’s also called a PP spiral guard or spiral hydraulic hose protector. Once you have a high-quality hydraulic hose protector, how do you install it? At Orientflex, we’re sharing 3 installation methods.
Method 1: Wrap from one end to the other
Start by wrapping one end of the hose with the spiral guard and securing it in place. Then, keep wrapping toward the other end. Continue until the sleeve fully covers the outside of the hose.
Method 2: Rotate from the middle to both ends
First, align the middle of the hose with the middle of the hose guard. Then, wrap from this middle point toward one end of the hydraulic hose.
After wrapping one end, position the spiral guard at the hose joint. Unlock the guard so it moves freely. Next, start winding from the middle toward the other end.
Finally, wrap both ends of the spiral hose protector around the outside of the hose to finish.
Method 3: Use a tool
First, wrap a section of the hydraulic hose spiral guard around the hose and fix it. Then, insert a screwdriver into the unwrapped part of the sleeve. Rotate the hose to quickly wrap the guard in place.
