Firefighting Team Coordination Procedures
Preparation Phase
Before reaching the fire scene, Team Member #1 connects the water gun to the fire hose. Upon arrival, they immediately assume a stable firing stance as per training protocols. Concurrently, Team Member #2 positions themselves as the assistant gunner, using both hands to steady the hose from the designated side.
Firefighting Operations
Once Team Members #1 and #2 are in position, Team Leader #3 signals Team Member #4 to “Open the hydrant!” This command is immediately repeated by #4 as they activate the fire hydrant valve.
Team Member #1 directs the water stream at the base of the flames, adjusting their position dynamically based on fire behavior.
Team Member #2 maintains constant communication with #1, ensuring optimal hose tension and stability.
Post-Operation Procedures
When the fire is extinguished:
Team Member #1 commands “Secure the line!” which is relayed through #3 to #4.
Team Member #4 shuts off the hydrant, detaches the connector, and swiftly moves to assist #1.
Team Member #3 disconnects the hoses, drains residual water, and begins rolling up Hose #1 with #4.
Team Member #1 removes the water gun, carries the connector to Hose #2, stacks it properly, then returns to help #2 rewind Hose #2.
Equipment Retrieval
After both hoses are properly stowed:
Team Member #1 retrieves the water gun.
Team Members #2 and #4 each carry a rolled hose.
All members return to the staging area in formation.
