Using a layflat hose the right way prevents damage and extends its lifespan. Follow these steps:

First, know that layflat water hoses are affected by internal pressure and temperature. So before using your hose, cut it to the exact length you need. This avoids unnecessary excess that could get tangled or damaged.

When filling the hose with water, open the valve slowly. Sudden surges in pressure can make the layflat pipe burst—slow opening protects the flat discharge hose from this harm.

Additionally, choose the right flat discharge hose for your task. Match the hose to your actual use case and conditions. For example, if you’re transporting powder or granules, enlarge the hose’s bending radius. A small bend radius will make the material wear down the hose’s inner wall, which can lead to cracks or breaks.

When attaching a metal joint to your layflat water hose, never use the hose in a bent state. Bending while connected to metal puts extra stress on the hose, which causes tears over time.

For PVC layflat water hoses specifically, check two key specs: thickness and pressure rating. The hose’s thickness must be at least 1.5mm, and its pressure rating must be above 0.6MPa. Also, inspect the surface— it should be smooth and flat (any bumps or unevenness mean poor quality).
