In our last piece, we covered tips for using high-pressure hoses correctly. Now, let’s focus on how to protect your rubber pipes during use.
Tips to Protect Your Rubber Pipe
First, keep your hose away from heat sources. Heat can raise the temperature of the outer rubber layer too high, causing premature aging. If you can’t avoid heat sources, take protective measures. The most effective solution is using a hose protector. Orientflex recommends silicone fire sleeves—these high-temperature sleeves work at up to 260℃, shielding your hose from heat damage.
Second, protect your hose from external impacts. During use, rubber hoses often rub against other surfaces or get bumped. This causes abrasion and crushing over time. As the hose wears down, its pressure resistance drops. To prevent this, use a spiral hose guard. These protectors have strong structures that resist wear and crushing, keeping your hose safe.
Beyond spiral hose guards and fire sleeves, Orientflex also offers nylon hose sleeves. Each type of protector has unique properties, but all work well to safeguard rubber hoses. If you need a hose wrap to protect your pipes, feel free to contact us.
