First, let’s look at the classification standard of high and low pressure hoses

If the maximum pressure of a hose does not exceed 1.6MPa, it is classified as a low – pressure hose. On the other hand, if the pressure exceeds 10MPa but is within 100MPa, it belongs to the high – pressure hose category. Hoses with a maximum working pressure between 1.6MPa and 10MPa are considered medium – pressure hoses. Moreover, when the maximum working pressure exceeds 100MPa, the hose is an ultra – high – pressure one.

Next, we can distinguish them based on usage

For instance, when considering the use of nitrile rubber hoses in automobiles, high – pressure and low – pressure nitrile hoses can withstand different levels of pressure. As a result, they serve different purposes. Specifically, low – pressure hoses are mainly used at oil suction ports, which are part of the input end. In contrast, high – pressure hoses are utilized at the oil delivery end. At this end, the high pressure is crucial for quickly supplying fuel to the equipment, thereby ensuring the smooth operation of the machinery.

Finally, from a technical perspective

The production process of high – pressure hoses is far more complex than that of low – pressure hoses. Low – pressure hoses merely require wire clamping or the addition of cloth on the skeleton layer. But for high – pressure hoses, these measures are insufficient. Instead, materials like canvas, polyester thread, and steel wire must be added to the high – pressure pipe. While this is to enhance its strength and pressure – resistance.
